Project Overview

The Problem:

Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) wanted to be better in control of how it disseminates news to both the media and Texans. It disliked its currently methodology, which was heavily reliant on third parties. Because of this, it aimed to create a newsroom that consumers could visit directly, thus cutting out third parties. However, it was unsure how best to do so.

The Solution:

TXDOT needed to discover optimal ways to spread its message to its users directly, whether through the creation of a newsroom or through another methodology. Before designing a newsroom, my Usability class and I conducted extensive generative and evaluative research to discover if there was, in fact, demand for a TXDOT newsroom.

My Role:

Survey, competitive evaluation, 1X1 interviews, usability test, subject matter expert (SME) interviews, quantitative data analysis

Tools:

UserZoom, Sketch, Qualtrics, Zoom
